What is Open Banking?

Open Banking is part of the Consumer Data Right, which gives individuals and businesses access to information about goods and services on offer to them.

Open Banking APIs

Broken Hill Community Credit Union’s Open Banking APIs allow third parties to retrieve information about the products we offer members.

These APIs are designed to support the Australian Consumer Data Standards and cover the following products:

  • transaction accounts

  • savings accounts

  • term deposits

  • overdrafts

  • personal loans

  • mortgages

How do Open Banking API’s work?

BHCCU's APIs are developed in accordance with the Consumer Data Standards.

The request for our APIs must be a HTTP Get request to the relevant product API endpoint.

The mandatory parameters defined in the specifications must be included, at a minimum, with URLs and links to specifications given under each API section noted below.

Our Product Reference Data APIs are publically available and do not require authentication.

The response received will be in the format defined by the Consumer Data Standards.
